Himachal Doctors Strike, Doctors in Himachal Pradesh are on strike today. Specialist medical services will not be provided in medical colleges across the state. Do not come to any hospital in the capital Shimla today to get your routine checkup done on Tuesday. Doctors will be on mass strike in the hospital on Tuesday. Doctors will not check patients in OPD in all three major hospitals of Shimla city. Only emergency services will be provided in the hospital. Other than this no services will be provided. In Shimla city hospitals, more than seven thousand patients come to OPD every day for checkup. In such a situation, the patients will have to face problems due to more workload on the shoulders of junior doctors. Patients will not be able to get treatment due to doctors going on mass leave and it will also cause problems in the wards.
More than 3000 patients visit OPD daily in IGMC Shimla. Patients in IGMC may have to face the most problems due to the strike. People from all over the state come to IGMC for treatment. Hospitals are overcrowded after two days off. Therefore, the strike can affect the work more.
The doctors are demanding the grant of an academic allowance to the faculty in medical colleges, time-bound promotion and a bar on deputation of IGMC doctors to other colleges.
