Major police reshuffle in state, IPS Gaurav Singh new SP Shimla

Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday issued transfer and posting orders for 12 IPS officers, implementing a major reshuffle in the police administration based on recommendations from the Civil Services Board. According to a notification issued by the Home Department, several district police chiefs have been changed and many officers have been promoted with new responsibilities.

Abhishek Dullar, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Communications and Technical Services. DK Chaudhary has been posted as IGP Armed Police and Training, Daroh.

Bimal Gupta, IGP Vigilance, has been relieved of his additional charge. DIG Saumya Sambasivan (Northern Range) will now also hold the additional charge of Principal, Police Training College, Daroh. Rohit Malpani has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Cyber Crime, Shimla.

District-level changes

Dr. Ramesh Chandra Chhajta, SP (Leave Reserve), has been appointed as DIG Jails and Correctional Services. Devakar Sharma, who was holding additional charge of SP Special Task Force, Mandi, has been appointed as DIG Intelligence and Security, Dharamshala.

Gaurav Singh, previously SP Solan, has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Shimla. Sakshi Verma has been appointed as SP State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Mandi. Arvind Chaudhary (SP Leave Reserve) has been posted as Commandant, 4th Indian Reserve Battalion, Jungalberi, and will also hold additional charge of SP Special Task Force, Mandi Zone.

Sandeep Kumar Bhardwaj has been appointed as ADC to the Governor. Sachin Hiremath has been appointed as SP Una, while Tirumalraju SD Verma has been posted as SP Solan.

SP Shimla Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi’s services have been placed under the Personnel Department with immediate effect following his promotion to DIG rank. SP Una Amit Yadav has been asked to report immediately to Police Headquarters, Shimla.

HPS officer Vinod Kumar-1 has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Mandi. Similarly, DIG Intelligence and Security Dharamshala Raman Sharma will report immediately to Police Headquarters, Shimla.
