Centre releases ₹601.92 crore to Himachal Pradesh under PNDA for disaster relief

The Ministry of Finance has released Rs 601.92 crore to Himachal Pradesh from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for recovery and reconstruction activities following the 2023 monsoon disasters that devastated the state.
The Department of Expenditure, Finance Commission Division, issued the order (No. 13(5)FCD/2025-26, NDRF Release No. 35/2025-26) dated April 21, 2025, approving the release of Rs 60,192 lakh as the first installment.

∙ Amount Released Now: Rs 60,192.00 lakh (Rs 601.92 crore) – 40% of total

∙ Financial Year: 2025-26
Conditions attached:
1. This is the first installment (40%) of the total approved assistance
2. Based on Ministry of Home Affairs recommendation via e-File No. 47-17/2024-DM-IH dated 15.12.2025 (likely typo in original – should be 15.12.2024)
3. Next installment condition: Further funds will be released only after 75% utilization of this amount
4. RBI requested to credit amount immediately to state government account
The funds will be used for reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the catastrophic 2023 monsoon season that caused over 400 deaths and damage exceeding Rs 10,000 crore.
