Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today paid floral tributes at the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Ambedkar Chowk, Shimla. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India, contributed towards promoting harmony, harmony and harmony. He worked throughout his life for the welfare and rights of the backward sections of the society and the poor. We should take inspiration from his life values and ideals.On this occasion the artists of Information and Public Relations Department presented devotional music. He took important steps to protect the rights of women and workers along with the Dalit Buddhist movement. Bhimrao Ambedkar was the main architect of the Constitution of India. Dr. Ambedkar was against the caste system and untouchability. During his lifetime, he strongly opposed the caste system.Babasaheb Ambedkar did many important works for the upliftment of Dalits. He struggled to bring the deprived sections of the society into the mainstream. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990. The Government of India declared 14 April as an official public holiday across the country in 2015.
