Thousands of meritorious students of Himachal Pradesh will soon get laptops. But before that there will be verification of the students. The laptops will be issued by the department only after verification. Apart from this, the department has prepared a format, which has been sent to the schools. The meritorious school and college students of Shimla district will get laptops in the month of May. The company selected for laptop allotment will deliver the laptop to the Deputy Director’s office this week. From here it will be given to the meritorious. Only after the verification of the school and college principal, the education department will give laptops to the meritorious students. On behalf of Deputy Director Higher Education Ashok Sharma, a format has been sent to the schools for verification in this regard. The school principal will verify which student is proposed to get the laptop.
In the format sent by the department to the principals of schools and colleges, it has been said that the students who are proposed to get laptops should prepare their mobile number, Aadhar card and the principal’s consent form and send it to the office of the Deputy Director of Education. The department will give laptops only to the students. Its allotment will be done in the office of the Deputy Director. Laptops are to be given to the meritorious of the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-20. The state government gives laptops to honor the meritorious students of colleges including class 10th and 12th. For the last two years, I am waiting for a meritorious laptop. 19 thousand meritorious people are proposed to get this laptop in the state. The Jairam government, which came to power in the state in December 2017, has not yet been able to give laptops to 19 and a half thousand meritorious students of the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-20. The purchase process of laptop is going on for the last three years.
