Colonel D. R. Gargey, Commanding Officer of 7 HP (I) Company NCC Shimla these days is personally visiting the schools and colleges of rural areas of Shimla and Mandi district to educate the students with patriotism, social service, discipline, joining NCC and Indian Army. Commanding Officer Col. DR. said that he, along with his army staff, is monitoring the NCC activities in these remote schools and colleges from his and giving a message to the students to do their best work for the service of the country and awakening the spirit of service to the nation. He added that there is no dearth of talent in rural youth, but their talent needs to be nurtured through counseling, innovations, sports, activities of NCC in the interest of the nation, country and society. “Sports in schools, colleges and NCC keep the students away from evils like drug abuse. Gargey said that in this direction, there should be counseling cells in schools and colleges so that students and parents continue to get the right guidance in the interest of students and youth”, said Col. Gargey.
In his address during the inspection of NCC activities of Government Senior Secondary School Shoghi, Sandhu and Roots Country School, Baghi Shimla here on Monday, Commanding Officer D.R. Gargey said that the cadets should imbibe the motto of NCC unity and discipline in life. Col. Gargey said that without NCC you do not become a cadet. Giving information about the opportunities available in the army to the girls cadets, he said that the Central Military can be selected as police officers and can become an officer in the army and also get the benefits of NCC in civil services. He said that India should youth should come forward to make india as a world power. He said that the youth studying in today’s schools and colleges will become the future of the country tomorrow.
During this special visit, Commanding Officer Col D.R. Gargey also inaugurated the new NCC office at Roots Country School and guided all the ANOs, Teachers and Principals for better running of NCC.
