There has been a ban on the transfers of officers and employees in Himachal Pradesh. The ten-day exemption on general transfers has now ended. From now on, it has become necessary to get the approval of the Chief Minister for getting the transfers done under the old system. The departments have started working on the transfer applications received from July 18 to 27. Selected transfer applications will be ordered from next week.
After nearly three years, the state government had lifted the ban on transfers in government departments for 10 days from July 18 to 27. On July 20, 2019, the state government had banned general transfers. After this, due to the Corona crisis, this ban was not removed. In between, the government gave some relaxation for transfers in tribal and inaccessible areas. However, the ban on general transfers was retained. In special circumstances, transfers were made only on the approval of the Chief Minister. The decision to lift the ban on transfers was taken in the cabinet meeting held recently.
