Today three new Congress MLAs will take oath in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Complex. This oath will be administered to him by the Speaker of the Assembly. After the death of two Congress MLAs and one BJP MLA, these MLAs have come after electing them on the vacant seats. In the last assembly elections, 21 Congress MLAs were elected. Now this legislature party has increased by one more. With this, the number of BJP MLAs in the state assembly will also increase to 43. Earlier, the state BJP had 44 MLAs.
Narendra Bragta was a BJP MLA in Jubbal-Kotkhai, after his death by-elections were held. From here Rohit Thakur has become a Congress MLA. The seats fell vacant after the deaths of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh from Arki and Sujan Singh Pathania, former minister from Fatehpur. Now Sanjay Awasthi from Arki and Bhavani Pathania, son of Sujan Singh Pathania from Fatehpur have become MLAs. Congress has won both the seats again. Now BJP will have 43, Congress 22, two independents and one CPI(M) MLAs in the state assembly.
