Former Himachal Pradesh Tourism Minister and ex-MLA from Shahpur, Major Vijay Singh Mankotia, passed away on Tuesday morning after his health suddenly deteriorated. He died on the way to a private hospital before he could receive medical attention.
According to information available, Mankotia’s condition worsened rapidly in the early hours of Tuesday. Family members and neighbours had begun making arrangements to take him to hospital, but he could not be saved in transit. The news of his passing spread quickly, sending a wave of grief across the Shahpur assembly constituency and through Kangra district.
