Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued a recruitment notification inviting online applications for 388 vacancies across various posts in the district judiciary. Applications can be submitted through the recruitment portal on the High Court’s official website at https://highcourt.hp.gov.in/ from August 10 to September 10, 2026 (11:59 PM).

Posts and vacancies

The recruitment covers six categories of posts. Court Manager — 5 posts (regular), with a pay scale of ₹48,700 to ₹1,54,300 under Pay Level 16. Clerk — 141 posts (84 regular, 57 contractual). Stenographer Grade III — 79 posts (48 regular, 31 contractual). Driver — 9 posts (4 regular, 5 daily wage). Process Server — 65 posts (61 regular, 1 contractual, 3 daily wage). Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari — 89 posts (69 regular, 20 daily wage).

Eligibility and qualifications

Court Manager applicants must hold a graduate degree along with an MBA and three years of relevant experience. The age limit for this post is 25 to 35 years. Clerk and Stenographer Grade III posts require a graduate degree. Clerks must have a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and 25 wpm in Hindi. Stenographer Grade III candidates need shorthand speed of 80 wpm in English and typing speed of 40 wpm in English and 30 wpm in Hindi. Driver applicants must be matriculate and hold a valid light motor vehicle licence with at least three years of driving experience. Process Server and Group D posts require 12th class pass.

For Group C posts, candidates must have passed matriculation, Class 12, or graduation from an HP school or institution, and for Group D posts, Class 8, 10, or 12 from an HP institution. This condition does not apply to bonafide Himachalis. All candidates must have knowledge of local customs and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.

Age limit and application fee

Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. The upper age limit for unreserved and EWS candidates is 45 years (minimum 18), while reserved category candidates and HP government employees get a five-year relaxation, making the upper limit 50 years. The application fee is ₹450 for unreserved category candidates and ₹300 for reserved categories. Applications must be submitted online only.
