Flight Lieutenant Arshveer Singh Thakur, hailing from Jakhol village in the Jubbal sub-division of Shimla district, has been named as a recipient of the prestigious Vir Chakra for his extraordinary bravery during Operation Sindoor.
Arshveer Singh was one of the key heroes of the operation, playing a crucial role in destroying terrorist hideouts located in Bahawalpur and Muridke, Pakistan. His courageous actions not only contributed significantly to the success of the mission but also brought immense pride to Himachal Pradesh and the entire nation.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Arshveer Singh Thakur, lauding his outstanding valour and service to the nation. The Chief Minister stated that every Himachali is proud of his bravery, saluting the spirit of Arshveer and all the soldiers who participated in Operation Sindoor.
The Vir Chakra, India’s third-highest wartime gallantry award, will be conferred upon him in recognition of his dedication, professionalism, and fearless service in safeguarding the country’s security.
