BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap raised the issue of airport established in Shimla district vigorously in front of Hon’ble Speaker in Lok Sabha. In his speech, he said that the city of Shimla is a historical tourist destination and is recognized on the map of the whole world.
Ever since the tough times of Kovid hit the country, air services were stopped at this airport. Since 2020, no plane has landed at Shimla airport, which has also affected the tourism of the region.
He recommended to the Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia that air services to Shimla should be restored at the earliest, which would benefit the region.
