Himachal Pradesh, which is called Devbhoomi, ranks first in the country in terms of water quality. This has come to the fore in a conference organized by UNICEF-Jal Jeevan Mission at Gujarat Bhawan in New Delhi. At the same time, Uttarakhand, which gives abundant oxygen to the country, is also included in the top three states in terms of providing clean drinking water. At the same time, in the Himalayan states, Uttarakhand will get the maximum budget of 1344 crores by the year 2025-26. The Ministry of Jal Shakti conducted a nationwide study on the quality of drinking water supplied to households. On this basis, it was found that highest quality drinking water of 98 percent is being provided in Himachal Pradesh, 95 percent quality water is being provided in Manipur and 92 percent quality drinking water is being provided in Uttarakhand. Apart from this, sensor based smart water supply monitoring systems have been installed in 11 areas of five states in the country. These include Keith, Churedar, in Tehri district of Uttarakhand.
Water reached more than seven lakh families of the state
At the launch of Jal Jeevan Mission on 15 August 2019, only one lakh 30 thousand (8.6 percent) out of 15 lakh 18 thousand rural households in Uttarakhand had access to tap water. Now seven lakh 33 thousand (48.34 percent) are getting tap water in their homes. 2246 villages of the state have become water supply till every household. There is a plan to provide water to every household by 2022. At the time of launch of Jal Jeevan Mission in Haridwar, only 15 thousand 321 (5.70 percent) were getting potable water. Water has reached 45055 (17 percent) households after continuous work in water supply for 26 months. So far water has reached every house in nine villages of the district. In Udham Singh Nagar, water supply from tap has been arranged for 3,8077 rural households (18.27 percent)
