The process of death due to spurious liquor is not stopping in the district Mandi of the state. Two more people died on Thursday morning. Sita Ram son of Banglu Ram resident of Khanyod tehsil Sundernagar died in the house. It is being told that Sita Ram drank alcohol on January 17. Sita used to work as Ram Mistry. The relative has found alcohol mixed in a bottle of soft drinking water in the room. The police have seized the bottle and the dead body. Bhagat Ram died in the early hours of Thursday, he was under treatment at Nerchowk Medical College. Apart from this, the condition of Ganpat is critical due to drinking spurious liquor, has been referred to IGMC Shimla at midnight. The condition of three more people is said to be critical. Five people had died on Wednesday, thus far seven people have lost their lives. The health department team will go door-to-door in Salapad, Dhwaal and Kangu panchayats today. Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary has appealed to the people of the three panchayats that if anyone has liquor lying in the house, then do not consume it. Those who have consumed alcohol since January 17, they should come themselves for treatment. The administration has constituted an SIT under the chairmanship of IG Madhusudan to investigate the matter. Whoever was found involved in this, strict action is being taken against him. The government and administration have decided to give a compensation of Rs.8 lakh each to the family of the deceased. Apart from this, immediate relief of Rs. 50-50 thousand has been provided on the spot.
