Maximum temperature dropped by 10 degrees in Himachal, Rohtang witnessing snow, rain in many districts

Pre-monsoon rains have gained momentum in Himachal Pradesh. On Friday, there was fresh snowfall on the higher peaks including Rohtang. It rained heavily in Dharamsala. 42 mm was recorded in Dharamsala. Clouds also rained in Manali, Bhuntar, Bilaspur, Nahan, Chamba, Dalhousie. It was raining with light cloudy sky in the capital Shimla. Due to the change in the weather of the state, there was a decrease of eight to 10 degree Celsius in the maximum temperature on Friday. The Meteorological Center Shimla has also issued a yellow alert of heavy rain and thunderstorms on Saturday. Chances of monsoon reaching the state by June 20 have also increased.

On Friday, the high peaks of Manali and Lahaul-Spiti, including Rohtang, were covered with a white sheet of snow. Tourists had a lot of fun amidst the snow in Rohtang and Barachala and many other high altitude peaks.
