Himachal Pradesh’s biggest cricket league, Pro HPCL Season 4, has officially commenced. The registration process for the league is now nearly complete, with over 600 players having confirmed their participation. This season will also feature national-level players, including prominent cricketer Rishi Dhawan, who is associated with the Shimla Royals team.
This year, around 20 franchise teams are participating, representing different districts and regions of the state. The fourth edition of the league is expected to be bigger and more competitive than ever before.
In terms of prize money, the winning team will receive ₹14 lakh, while the runners-up will be awarded ₹7 lakh. Both semi-finalist teams will receive ₹2 lakh each. Additionally, the Player of the Series will be awarded up to ₹55,000. Around ₹30 lakh will be distributed among players through the auction process. Overall, the total prize pool for the season is approximately ₹60 lakh.
Following the completion of registrations, player trials will be conducted, after which the auction process will take place.
The founders of Pro HPCL — Ajay Thakur, Abhay Thakur, Vinu Diwan, and Sumit Sehgal — shared that the previous three seasons of the league have been successfully conducted. The first season was held in Bharari (Shimla), the second in Mohali, and the third at the renowned Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula.
This season, Pro HPCL will be hosted at a newly developed and much-talked-about cricket ground in Shimla, built recently by three young individuals. The venue is being seen as a significant step towards developing professional cricket infrastructure in the region.
Founder Ajay Thakur said,
“Pro HPCL aims to provide a strong and professional platform for players from Himachal. The response we have received for Season 4 clearly reflects the growing impact of the league. Hosting the league at our own cricket ground in Shimla is a matter of great pride and will contribute to shaping the future of cricket in the state.”
There is tremendous excitement among players and cricket enthusiasts across Himachal Pradesh for Pro HPCL Season 4, and the league is set to mark the beginning of a new chapter in the region’s sporting landscape.
