Three students of Bishop Cotton School (BCS) Shimla have gone missing after an outing on Saturday, prompting a large-scale search operation by the police. The boys, all studying in Class 6, are residents of Karnal, Mohali, and Kullu. They had gone to the Mall Road for shopping during the school’s outing day, accompanied by other students. While the rest of the group returned on time, these three failed to report back, raising concerns about their safety.
According to officials, there is a possibility that the children may have lost their way or gone somewhere without informing anyone. However, the police are also investigating the possibility of abduction. Shimla police have launched an intensive search operation, checking vehicles heading towards Shoghi and nearby areas. Despite efforts that continued late into the night, the students have not yet been found.
Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that multiple police teams have been formed to trace the missing children. The police have also reached out to their counterparts in Delhi and Haryana for assistance.
Bishop Cotton School, one of India’s most prestigious boarding schools, hosts students from across the country and abroad. As per routine, Saturday was an outing day for the students, with all children expected to assemble at a designated location at the end of the day. While the rest complied, the absence of the three boys prompted the school management to lodge a missing persons report with the police. The search operation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
